Lunchmeat festival x ARCHA+ presents: Sara Persico & Mika & others
The album Sphaîra is the debut of Italian musician and producer Sara Persico, released under the Subtext Records label. The recording draws inspiration from an abandoned concrete theater in the city of Tripoli, Lebanon, designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer as a space for social integration. However, the building was never completed and was used as barracks by the Syrian army during the civil war.
Persico uses field recordings from this location to create a layered sound composition that transports listeners to the very heart of the abandoned building and conveys its historical and emotional resonance. The audiovisual form of the project was created in collaboration with French-Japanese artist Mika Oki, who complements the musical material with hypnotic, abstract visual projections.
The recording So Afraid to Show I Care, released in 2025 on Aisha Devi's Danse Noir label, is more of an archive than a performance. The duo first presented it to the public at last year's PAF Olomouc in the intimate atmosphere of the dimly lit Hus Chapel, thrilling the audience. The album is the result of a long-term collaboration between musicians Thee Alexander and Qow and represents an intimate dialogue between two musical personalities, blending neoclassical structures with digital textures and emotion-infused sound design. Alexander and Qow will perform at the Prague concert together with guest artists otteswed and Klára Pudláková, who will present a unique concert performance of this project - for the very first time and only on October 23 at ARCHA+.
